WACO, Texas - The No. 36 Baylor women's tennis team won its fourth Big 12 conference match of the season with a 6-1 victory over No. 39 Kansas State in Manhattan on Friday. Baylor moves to 12-4 overall and 4-1 in league play while Kansas State is now 8-5 on the season and 3-2 in Big 12 action.
Baylor swept five of the six singles matches, losing only at No. 2 singles. The Bears won two of the three doubles matches to take the doubles point.
In singles action, Katja Kovac, Frida Borjesson, Daria Potapova, Barbora Blahutiakova and Whitney Morton all posted victories. Patricia Graf was the lone Bear loser as she dropped her match after moving up to No. 2 singles from her normal No. 3 spot. Baylor's Alison Bradley and Kovac teamed for a doubles victory as did Morton and Blahutiakova at No. 2 and 3, respectively. Playing at the No. 1 position, Borjesson and Graf dropped their match, 9-7.
The Bears resume action in Lawrence on Sat., March 30 (1 p.m.) when they face Kansas.
