FRESNO, Calif. - Kristen Lancaster capped a three-run Baylor first inning with a two-run homer to left as the Lady Bears defeated Cal Poly San Luis Obispo 4-2 here Saturday at the Hallowell Classic, hosted by Fresno State.

Baylor moves to 27-5 on the season with the victory, while Cal Poly falls to 12-9.

It was the fifth home run on the season for Lancaster, who is now alone in fifth place all-time at Baylor with nine career homers. Baylor is now 11-0 this season when scoring in the first inning.

The Lady Bears added another run in the third. Danelle Arnold led off with a triple to right-center and then scored on a Kourtny Westerfeld two-out single.

Cal Poly got two runs back in the bottom of the fourth, piecing together five hits and making use of one Baylor error. However, Cristin Vitek relieved starter Katie Decker and halted the Mustangs' rally.

Vitek (11-2) got the victory, she allowed just one hit with one strikeout in three and one-third scoreless innings of work. Decker was touched for two runs, one earned, on six hits over three and two-thirds innings.

Baylor plays San Diego State at 7 p.m. CST Saturday as play continues at the Hallowell Classic.
