Columbus, Ohio - No.1 seed Vida Mulec started off the day strong with a 6-3,6-1 win over Notre Dames Sarah Jane Connelly but was upset in the quarterfinals by SMU's Lisa D'Amelio 2-6, 6-3, 1-0 (2).

In other singles action, Barbora Blauutiakova defeated Eastern Michigan's Kendra Clark 7-5, 6-2, and Izabella Mijic defeated Penn State's Sarah Spence 7-5, 6-1, 1-0 (4). Mijic was later defeated by LSU's Amanda Mang 6-3, 6-2. Daria Potapova had a good day by winning both of her matches against Linsday Williams of Ohio State 6-3, 6-0, and Parpaipha Dansuthi of Penn State 6-0, 5-7, 1-0, (9).

In doubles play, Mulec/Balzert lost their first match of the day 8-5 to Leskovar/ Williams of Ohio State, but finished off the day on a positive note with a victory over Bowen/ Adams of Ohio State 8-5.

The singles championship match of the OSU/Prince Cup will be played Sunday at noon at the Stickney Tennis Center.
