DALLAS, Texas - Baylor has been selected the Football Writers Association of America's National "Team of the Week" for games played the weekend of Oct. 4, the organization announced Monday.

Baylor was selected based on its 42-30 victory over Colorado Saturday, the third straight victory for the Bears. Aaron Karas threw three touchdown passes and Rashad Armstrong ran for 166 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Bears, 3-2 on the season and 1-0 in Big 12 play.

The honor is decided by a 16-member panel that votes in the FWAA's Grantland Rice Super 16 Poll, which is in its second season. The FWAA "Team of the Week" is announced each Monday throughout the season.

Auburn, Iowa, Mississippi and UCLA were among the other schools nominated this week.

Baylor travels to College Station this Saturday to face Texas A&M (2-3, 0-1) at Kyle Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. CDT.
