WACO, Texas - Baylor's Cedric Fields has accepted an invitation to participate in the 65th Blue-Gray All-Star Classic, held Christmas Day at Movie Gallery Stadium in Troy, Ala. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. CST and will be televised live on ESPN2.

A senior from Corsicana, Texas, Fields finished his career with 36 consecutive starts on the offensive line, the last 24 of which came at center. Fields served as offensive captain for the 2003 Bears and was the leader of an offensive line that produced Baylor's first 1,000-yard running back since 1995 in Rashad Armstrong.

The Blue-Gray All-Star Classic, which debuted Jan. 2, 1939 and is the oldest of the current college all-star games, pits standout collegiate seniors from schools throughout the nation in a traditional "North versus South" format. Squads will consist of 40 players each.

Baylor has a rich history with the Blue-Gray All-Star Classic. Since 1942, the Bears have sent 46 players to the game, including Jack Russell (1944 and 1945), Terry Southall (1966), Roger Goree (1972), Bruce Davis (1983) and Nikia Codie (1998). Jon Erickson and Adam Stiles represented the Bears at the 2001 classic, and Baylor legend Grant Teaff served as head coach in 1973 and 1975.

Fields will be joined at the game by Baylor head coach Guy Morriss and offensive coordinator Brent Pease. Morriss will serve as offensive head coach for the Gray (South) team, while Pease will serve as his offensive assistant.
