Waco, Texas - Baylor has added a 24th signee to its 2003 football signing class, inking fullback Quincy Cosby of Mart to a national letter of intent, head coach Guy Morriss announced Tuesday.
Cosby (5-10, 220) originally signed with the Bears last February but did not meet the NCAA-mandated minimum entrance exam score needed to enroll. He sat out the school year to re-take the test and has since scored high enough to enroll this August.
"Quincy is a good football player who can help our football team," Morriss said. "He's very strong and should make a smooth transition to playing in the Big 12."
Cosby was a dual-position athlete at Mart, earning first-team Super Centex honors as a defensive back after intercepting five passes and recording 86 tackles as a senior. He also rushed for 1,523 yards and 21 touchdowns and was named second-team 2A all-state honors by the Texas Sportwriters Association in 2001.
