WACO, Texas - Although it wasn't easy, the Baylor women's tennis team remained unbeaten in Big 12 action with a 4-3 victory over Kansas State on Saturday afternoon at the Baylor Tennis Center. Baylor, ranked No. 42, is 6-6 on the season and 4-0 in Big 12 action while No. 53 Kansas State moves to 6-3 and 2-2.

Baylor's Alison Bradley and Daria Potapova, playing at No. 1 singles, posted their first doubles victory as a team with an 8-3 win over Andrea Cooper and Jessica Simosa. At No. 3 doubles, Stephanie Balzert and Izabela Mijic defeated Hayley McIver and Maria Rosenberg, 8-6, to earn the doubles point for the Bears. The Wildcats' lone doubles win came when Paulina Castillejos and Petra Sedlmajerova beat Anna Moncolova and Vida Mulec, 9-8 (3).

Baylor went up 3-0 when Daria Potapova and Stephanie Balzert each posted singles wins at Nos. 4 and 3, respectively. However, Kansas State would take matches at Nos. 2 and 6 to make it 3-2. Despite dropping her first set 2-6, freshman Izbela Mijic, playing at No. 5, clinched the match for Baylor by taking the final two sets 6-4, 6-4. Earning the third point for the Wildcats was Sedlmajerova who posted a 6-3, 7-6(4) win over No. 107 Vida Mulec at No. 1.

"I was pleased with the victory but we didn't play our best. However, we found a way to make it happen," said Baylor head coach Joey Scrivano. "I'm disappointed in our doubles play, I feel like we could dominate more teams if we were more disciplined. That's something we'll work on next week."

Baylor will host No. 25 Illinois (8-3) on Sun., March 16 at 10 a.m. at the Baylor Tennis Center.
