Waco, Texas - Overcast skies and a cool north wind wasn't the only outlook Baylor football coach Guy Morriss thought needed changing Thursday following the Bears' second practice of the spring. Morriss, in his first spring as Baylor's head coach, urged his players to enjoy football for what it is - a game.
"The kids have to understand that this is a game of emotion and that practice can be fun," Morriss said. "It's OK to laugh and smile, but we have to be focused. We're going to work hard. They're a little bit apprehensive about enjoying practice and making it fun.
"We moved around with a little better sense of urgency today. The tempo was better. Offensively, we weren't as focused as we should have been. Too many people going the wrong way and too many people jumping offsides. But we're adding new stuff every day offensively and you can see them processing information."
The Bears' first day in pads will be Saturday at 10 a.m. All workouts are open to the public.
