Waco, Texas - Baylor football went through its first day in full pads Saturday, working out for two hours in a steady morning drizzle.
"I saw a lot more enthusiasm today," head coach Guy Morriss said. "We're making some mistakes, but the kids are learning how we want them to practice and move from drill to drill. The X and O part will come the more they're in the system and get more comfortable with what they're doing."
The last 30 minutes of Saturday's practice was spent in an 11-on-11, full-contact situation.
"The biggest thing overall the kids have to understand is their conditioning level and how to push themselves harder. They've got to be able to go full speed every down."
Baylor's next practice is scheduled for Monday at 3 p.m. All workouts are open to the public.
