The Bears return to Waco on Saturday to take on the #68 Kansas Jayhawks after they upset #28 Texas A&M in College Station on Wednesday, 4-3. The match with Kansas was originally scheduled for 11 a.m. but was moved back to 11:30 a.m.
With Baylor's victory against the Aggies on Wednesday, they ended a three-game losing streak that dated back to their loss to Illinois on March 16. On Tuesday, the Bear's lost a close match to #43 Texas, 4-3, at the Baylor Tennis Center, and then traveled to Oxford, Miss. where they were upset by Ole Miss 4-3.
In singles play this week, Daria Potapova is still adding to her winning streak. With her win against Roberta Spencer of A&M on Wednesday she now has won 8 in a row, and 12 of her last 13 dual matches. Izabella Mijic has remained hot throughout the week also. After losing two in a row for the first time this season against Illinois and Texas, Mijic rebounded to win two tough matches against Ole Miss and A&M. Mijic has now won 13 of her last 16 matches. Vida Mulec won three matches in a row against Illinois, Texas, and Ole Miss before she was defeated at A&M. That was Mulec's first win streak on the spring season. Barbora Blahutiakova returned this week from illness to win her most important match of the spring season. Blahutiakova defeated Seva Iwinski 3-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) to clinch the upset win over Texas A&M.
In doubles action the duo of Balzert and Mijic lost their first match of the season at Texas A&M after riding a six-game winning streak that dated back to Feb. 2. The Bear's have lost the doubles point during the last two matches

- The Bears' 2003 spring schedule pits them against 19 ranked teams, three of which are currently in the top 20.
- With Vida Mulec's doubles win against Texas Tech she now leads Frida Borjesson Baylor's on all-time (5) career doubles wins, with 70.
-The Women's tennis team is 25-9 in its two-year history at the Baylor Tennis Center. Daria Potapova is currently on an eight-match winning streak and has won 12 out of her last 13 dual matches.

Daria Potapova has now won eight matches in a row which leads the team for the season. Potapova also is bolstering an impressive .833 winning percentage with a 15-3 record on the season. The record for best singles winning percentage in a season is .929, set by Barbra Navarro in 1997.
Potapova Named Big 12 Player of the Week
Daria Potapova was named Big 12 player of the week for the week of March 18-24. During the past week Potapova won two important matches against nationally ranked Texas and Ole Miss.
