Baylor plays its final four home games this week, beginning with a pair of midweek games. The Lady Bears entertain Southwest Texas at 6:30 p.m. CDT Tuesday and No. 5 Texas at 6:30 p.m. CDT Wednesday. Baylor (28-21, 2-10) dropped a pair of heart-breaking, one-run games last weekend at Iowa State. Southwest Texas (34-13-1, 13-4-1) swept a three-game set at home against Texas-San Antonio over the weekend, while Texas (32-7, 9-2) swept a two-game series at home against fourth-ranked Oklahoma. Wednesday's game against Texas will be a broadcast game on KRZI 1660/1580 AM in the Waco area. HEAD COACH GLENN MOORE
Glenn Moore is in his third season as head coach at Baylor, coming to Waco after a stellar three-year tenure at Louisiana State. In his first season at Baylor, Moore led the Lady Bears to a 38-22 overall record and a sixth-place, 7-9 mark in the Big 12 Conference. Last season, he guided the Lady Bears to even greater successes with more than 50 team and individual, single-game and single-season school records. Baylor finished 46-18 overall and 10-8 in the Big 12 Conference, establishing school marks for victories in a season, conference victories in a season and highest conference finish (fourth). Moore also led Baylor to a national ranking for the second straight season and two wins over top 10 teams, as many top-10 victories as the Lady Bears had amassed in the previous 16 seasons of the program's existence. Earlier this season, Moore claimed his 100th victory as Baylor's head coach with the Lady Bears 3-0 triumph against Texas Tech. He is now 112-61 (.647) in three seasons at Baylor. Moore has a career record of 251-103 (.709); he posted a 22-17 mark in his first year as a collegiate head coach at William Carey in Mississippi. Moore is 229-84 (.732) at the Division I level.
HOME, SWEET HOME
Baylor is 18-5 at Getterman Stadium this season, 14-0 in non-conference games. That home-field success is a stark contrast from the 10-14 mark the Lady Bears have posted in games away from Waco. Last season, Baylor was 25-6 at home and established a school record for home wins in a season. The Lady Bears also enjoyed a school-record 24-game home winning streak that dated back to 2001 season. Since the beginning of the 2002 season, the Lady Bears are 43-11 (.796) at home. In three years under head coach Glenn Moore, Baylor is 58-17 (.773) at Getterman Stadium. The Lady Bears are 72-30 (.706) in the stadium's five-year existence.
WHO'S GOT GETTERMAN FEVER?
After shattering the school record for attendance last season, Baylor appears to be well on course to do the same again this season. Through 14 home dates, Getterman Stadium has drawn 6,130 fans for an average of 437 per date. The April 5 game against sixth-ranked Nebraska drew a Getterman Stadium record crowd of 840; the weekend gate of 1,199 was also a stadium record. Three of the top 10 and five of the top 12 attendances in the stadium's existence have come this season. Baylor finished 13th nationally in total attendance for 2002 and 20th nationally in per-game attendance.
THE SOUTHWEST TEXAS SERIES
Tuesday's game is the 35th meeting between Baylor and Southwest Texas with the Lady Bears holding a 24-10 advantage in the all-time series. The teams last met April 4, 2001, splitting a doubleheader in Waco; Baylor won the opener 1-0 in eight innings but dropped the nightcap 6-2. Baylor leads the series 13-3 in Waco.
LAST MEETING ... BAYLOR 1-2, SOUTHWEST TEXAS 0-6 - APRIL 4, 2001
Joni Miller extended her consecutive scoreless inning streak to 32.1 innings as the Lady Bears posted a 1-0, 8-inning victory over 22nd-ranked Southwest Texas in the first game. However, the Bobcats took the nightcap 6-2. In gaining the victory, Miller allowed four hits and struck out seven. Southwest Texas' Jessica Chase limited Baylor batters to just two hits but dropped to 17-3 with the loss. With the game scoreless through seven innings the international tiebreaker was invoked. Baylor scored the game's lone run in the bottom of the eighth. Brittany Baker was placed on second base to begin the inning. She advanced to third on Jen Polk's groundout to the pitcher and scored when Southwest Texas' catcher couldn't come up with the ball on the play at home plate. Despite four errors by Southwest Texas in the second game, the Lady Bears were not able to capitalize upon the mistakes. The Bobcats' Nicole Neuerburg allowed only four hits and struck out nine Baylor batters while hurling a complete game. Jill Smith suffered the loss for Baylor while pitching her second complete game of the season.
THE TEXAS SERIES
Baylor and Texas meet for the 12th time Wednesday with the Longhorns holding a 10-1 advantage in the all-time series. UT won the first seven meetings in the series, which dates back to the 1998 season. Baylor snapped that losing streak in 2001, topping the Longhorns 2-0 April 18 in Waco. Three weeks ago, Texas defeated Baylor 6-1 at Austin.
LAST MEETING ... TEXAS 6, BAYLOR 1 - MARCH 26, 2003
Fifth-ranked Texas scored six second-inning runs and Catherine Osterman struck out 11 as the Longhorns defeated Baylor Wednesday night. Sarah Wieszczak's one-out RBI triple got things started for Texas in the second as the Longhorns batted around in the frame. After an Amber Hall walk, Marlo Hanks blasted the first of two doubles on the night, scoring Wieszczak and Hall. Two walks later Lindsay Garnder bounced a two-run single through the left side, and Tina Boutelle then swiped home. Baylor made use of two Texas errors in the top of the third to scratch the scoreboard. April Luce reached on an Osterman throwing error to lead off the inning and advanced to second on the overthrow. A Stacey Hundley sacrifice pushed Luce to third. Kim WIlmoth then reached on a fielding error by Texas third baseman Wynter Turner, and Luce scored on the play. Other than the second inning, Texas' bats were, for the most part, kept at bay. The Longhorns got four of their six hits in the second and managed just three base runners in the last four innings. Cristin Vitek started and took the loss for Baylor. The sophomore southpaw lasted just 1.1 innings and allowed four runs on three hits and a walk with one strikeout. Katie Decker pitched the final 4.2 innings and was touched for two runs on three hits and three walks with a season-high tying five strikeouts.

BIG 12 STATISTICAL RANKINGS
According to the latest Big 12 Conference statistical rankings (April 14), Baylor ranks second in hitting (.286), seventh in pitching (2.13) and third in fielding (.969). The Lady Bears lead the conference in triples (12), stolen bases (104) and sacrifice hits (53). Baylor's pitching staff is tied for the conference lead with three saves.
OSBURN, WILMOTH DOMINATE BIG 12 STATS
Sophomore SS/2B Kim Wilmoth and freshman OF/1B Kelly Osburn are easy to find in the latest Big 12 Conference statistical rankings (April 14). The two combine to lead or share the lead in five statistical categories. Wilmoth, who ranks second in the Big 12 with a .377 batting average, leads the league in hits (55), triples (4) and stolen bases (19). She is also tied for ninth in total bases (71) and sixth in on base percentage (.424). Osburn is third in the conference with a .362 batting average and leads the Big 12 in runs (33) and on base percentage (.516). She also ranks ninth in hits (42), tied for sixth in home runs (8), tied for 10th in RBI (23), second in stolen bases (16), eighth in total bases (75), second in walks (34) and fourth in slugging percentage (.647).
OTHERS IN THE BIG 12 STATISTICAL RANKINGS
According to the April 14 Big 12 Conference statistical rankings, senior OF/P Sarah Caudle (.323) and junior OF Kelly Levesque (.323) are tied for 10th in the league in batting average. That gives Baylor four of the top 10 hitters in the conference; no other school has more than two in the top 10. ... Levesque and Caudle are tied for sixth in hits (43). ... Caudle is also seventh in runs (28), tied for 10th in home runs (7), tied for third in doubles (10), second in RBI (35), tied for fifth in total bases (76) and 10th in slugging percentage (.571). ... Levesque is tied for eighth in runs (27) and tied for second in triples (3). ... Freshman OF/SS Harmony Schwethelm is third in stolen bases (15).

Baylor entertains Missouri over the weekend, hosting the Tigers at 5 p.m. CDT Friday and at noon CDT Saturday. Mizzou leads the all-time series 13-8, but Baylor is 4-0 against the Tigers under head coach Glenn Moore.
