HEAD COACH GLENN MOORE
Glenn Moore is in his third season as head coach at Baylor, coming to Waco after a stellar three-year tenure at Louisiana State. In his first season at Baylor, Moore led the Lady Bears to a 38-22 overall record and a sixth-place, 7-9 mark in the Big 12 Conference. Last season, he guided the Lady Bears to even greater successes with more than 50 team and individual, single-game and single-season school records. Baylor finished 46-18 overall and 10-8 in the Big 12 Conference, establishing school marks for victories in a season, conference victories in a season and highest conference finish (fourth). Moore also led Baylor to a national ranking for the second straight season and two wins over top 10 teams, as many top-10 victories as the Lady Bears had amassed in the previous 16 seasons of the program's existence. Earlier this season, Moore claimed his 100th victory as Baylor's head coach with the Lady Bears 3-0 triumph against Texas Tech. He is now 113-67 (.628) in three seasons at Baylor. Moore has a career record of 252-109 (.698); he posted a 22-17 mark in his first year as a collegiate head coach at William Carey in Mississippi. Moore is 230-90 (.719) at the Division I level.

THE IOWA STATE SERIES
Baylor and Iowa State meet for the 13th time Thursday with the Cyclones holding a 7-5 advantage in the all-time series. Iowa State swept the season series, the first time either team had swept the season series in six meetings. The Cyclones won both games in their final at bat. This is the second time Baylor and Iowa State have met in a play-in game at the Big 12 Tournament. The Cyclones defeated the Lady Bears 6-3 at the 2000 tournament when ISU was the 10th seed and BU was the seventh seed. That is the only time the teams have faced each other in Big 12 Tournament action.

LAST MEETING ... IOWA STATE 7, BAYLOR 6 - APRIL 14, 2003
AMES, Iowa -
For the second straight day, Iowa State catcher Katie Ruby played the role of hero for the Cyclones. After hitting a game-tying three-run home run with two outs in the bottom of the seventh in Saturday's game, Ruby blasted another two-out three-run homer to defeat the Lady Bears 7-6 in Sunday's series finale. Ruby, who earlier in the game hit a three-run homer to tie the game at 4-4, hit a 3-1 offering off Baylor's Sarah Caudle over the fence in left-center. Her heroics over the weekend led Ruby to earn Big 12 player of the week honors. Baylor appeared to have the game in hand after scoring two runs in the top of the seventh to break the 4-4 tie. With two outs in the inning, Caudle singled to score Kim Wilmoth from second. Kelly Levesque followed with a double to left-center, scoring Caudle. However, that only set the stage for Iowa State's bottom of the seventh comeback. Cary Akins led off the frame with a single and later moved to second on the second out of the inning. Erica Martinez then drew a walk, and a wild pitch put the runners on second and third to set the stage for Ruby's home run. Ironically, Ruby hit each of her three home runs on the weekend off a different Baylor hurler. The loss spoiled Baylor's second straight double-digit hit game; the Lady Bears had 11 hits in the Saturday 8-7, eight-inning defeat. Levesque went 3-for-4, Kelly Osburn went 2-for-3 with one RBI, and Caudle went 2-for-4 with two runs scored.

LAST TIME OUT ... BAYLOR 4, KANSAS 0 - APRIL 27, 2003
LAWRENCE, Kan. -
Baylor used a four-run fourth inning and dominating pitching for a 4-0 victory over Kansas here Sunday, closing out the regular season for both teams. The victory put an end to a season-long eight-game losing streak for the Lady Bears. The Lady Bears broke through offensively in the fourth, making use of four hits and a Kansas error. The explosion began with Kelly Osburn's ninth home run of the season, a solo shot to left-center. After Danelle Arnold reached on an error, Nan Wilkins singled through the left side to put runners on the corners. Amber Daniel then doubled off the wall in center, scoring both runners. Kelly Levesque followed with a single through the right side, scoring Daniel. Meanwhile, Baylor pitchers Katie Decker and Cristin Vitek kept the Jayhawk bats in check all day. Decker (8-6) allowed just two hits in 4.1 innings, and Vitek earned her second save of the season with 2.2 innings of perfect relief work. Decker allowed a first-inning single to Lindsey Weinstein and then retired 12 straight before hitting Nettie Fierros with one out in the fifth. After Decker surrendered a single through the left side to Heather Stanley, Vitek came in and struck out the next two batters to end the threat. Levesque went 3-for-4 at the plate, and Osburn was 2-for-3.

LADY BEARS ESTABLISH SCHOOL HOMER RECORD
Kelly Osburn's solo home run Sunday at Kansas was the 25th long ball of the season for Baylor, establishing a program record for home runs in a season. The previous mark of 24 was set in 2001; last year, the Lady Bears hit 23 homers. Seven weeks ago, breaking the record appeared to be a sure thing. Baylor hit 22 home runs in its first 35 games, but Osburn's blast Sunday was just the Lady Bears' third in their last 21 contests. Osburn hit two of the three, while Sarah Caudle had the other.

CAUDLE NEARING RBI MARK
Senior OF/P Sarah Caudle is nearing several Baylor career records. She already owns the school marks for games played (236), games started (233), doubles (38), triples (8) and total bases (298). She enters the Big 12 Tournament needing three RBI to become the first player in school history to reach the century mark in that category. Misty Perry (1996-1999) currently holds the Baylor career RBI record at 99.

HUNDLEY CONTINUES HOT HITTING
Senior 2B Stacey Hundley has regained the offensive form that made her a 2001 all-Big 12 selection. Currently, she is riding a career-best 12-game hitting streak, which ties Naomi Fitzgerald's 2000 streak as the second-longest in school history. Kelly Osburn established the Baylor mark with a 14-gamer earlier this season. ... Hundley leads Baylor with a .316 (12-for-38) average in Big 12 games. One of only 14 players hitting above .300 in conference games, Hundley hits just .255 (14-for-55) against non-conference pitchers. ... During her hitting streak, Hundley is hitting .371 (13-for-35) with three doubles. Her overall average has risen 56 points during the streak.

VITEK EYES OWN STRIKEOUT RECORD
Sophomore LHP Cristin Vitek needs just 10 strikeouts to match her freshman total of 187, a school record. She joined Stacey Allison (1996, 1998) as the only hurlers in Baylor history to reach the 150-K mark twice, and Vitek is the only pitcher to do it in successive seasons. Her two-year strikeout total of 364 surpasses Allison's previous school record for strikeouts in successive seasons of 327 established in the 1996 and 1997 seasons.

OSBURN MOVES TO SECOND ON HOMER CHART
Freshman OF Kelly Osburn moved into a tie with Kristen Lancaster (2002) for second place on Baylor's single-season home run chart with her solo shot Sunday at Kansas. Next on the list is Bri Chambliss, who smashed 11 bombs in her freshman campaign of 1997. ... Sunday's homer was Osburn's second game-winner of the season. She also had a game-winning shot March 8 against Boston College at the Malahini Tournament in Hawai'i. Ironically, both were solo shots in scoreless games, and in both cases Baylor won the game 4-0. ... Baylor is 8-1 in games in which Osburn homers.

BIG 12 STATISTICAL RANKINGS
According to the April 29 Big 12 Conference statistical rankings, Baylor ranks third in hitting (.272), seventh in pitching (2.20) and fifth in fielding (.967). The Lady Bears are tops in stolen bases (112) and sacrifice hits (56). Baylor's pitching staff is tied for the conference lead with four saves.

WILMOTH, OSBURN DOMINATE BIG 12 STATS
Sophomore SS/2B Kim Wilmoth and freshman OF/1B Kelly Osburn are easy to find in the April 29 Big 12 Conference statistical rankings. At least one of the two appears in the top 10 of every offensive category, save doubles. Wilmoth leads the Big 12 in triples (4) and stolen bases (19), while Osburn is tops in on base percentage (.483). ... Wilmoth also ranks fourth in batting average (.343) and third in hits (57). ... Osburn is sixth in batting average (.341), tied for fourth in runs (35), tied for seventh in home runs (9), tied for second in stolen bases (17), ninth in total bases (82), second in walks (34) and fourth in slugging percentage (.607).
