WACO, Texas - Baylor's softball team split a doubleheader against Texas Tech here Tuesday, winning the first game 2-0 and dropping the night cap 1-0. The Lady Bears move to 26-19 on the season and 2-8 in Big 12 Conference play. Texas Tech moves to 16-34 and 3-9 in the league.

Texas Tech threatened in the top of the seventh, drawing a pair of two-out walks. However, Baylor starter Cristin Vitek got Esmerelda Perez to pop up to catcher Danelle Arnold, ending the game and the threat.

Vitek (12-10) tossed her fourth complete-game shutout of the season, allowing just three hits with four walks and five strikeouts.

Baylor had eight hits as a team, a season-high in Big 12 play. Wilmoth was 2-for-2 and Caudle was 2-for-3 with a double.

Game two was another pitchers' duel as both teams were held scoreless through the first five innings. However, Perez reached on an error by Kim Wilmoth to lead off the sixth; she then moved to second on a sacrifice bunt and to third on a wild pitch. Elyssa Sigala followed with a single through the left side, scoring Perez.

The error by Wilmoth was her first in 27 games, snapping an 85-chance errorless streak.

Baylor had a chance to answer in the bottom of the inning when Kelly Levesque led off with a double to center and Wilmoth followed with an infield single. However, Texas Tech starter Amy Stines got out of the jam unscathed with a fielder's choice that cut down Levesque at home and an inning-ending double play.

Katie Decker (6-5) was stuck with the tough-luck loss. She allowed one unearned run on three hits and two walks with one strikeout in 5.2 innings. Vitek pitched the final four outs with one walk and one strikeout.

Wilmoth went 2-for-3 in the nightcap, raising her batting average to .366 with a 4-for-5 day.
