WACO, Texas - According to the latest team rankings released Wednesday by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), both of Baylor's tennis teams dropped spots. The men fell three places to No. 6, while the women fell one spot to No. 40.
In singles rankings, five men netters and one Lady Bear netter earned spots on the nation's top 125. Sophomore Benedikt Dorsch, for the fifth week in a row is No. 1 in the nation. Following him, Matias Marin dropped a few spots to No. 36 with Zoltan Papp right behind at No. 42. Other men's netters earning spots were No. 92 Benjamin Becker and No. 109 Reiner Neurohr. The only Lady Bear to receive a singles ranking was senior Vida Mulec, who entered the list at No. 89. Mulec received her highest ranking of No. 45 on Jan. 13.
In men's doubles rankings, two doubles teams would receive spots on the top 50. Benjamin Becker and Zoltan Papp earned their highest ranking this season at No. 31, while Ivor Lovrak and Matias Marin dropped to No. 45.
The men's team will face No. 16 Texas, Friday, April 11 in Austin, Texas and the women go head-to-head with No. 66 Nebraska tomorrow on the Cornhuskers home turf.
