OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. - Baylor softball placed three players on the two all-Big 12 Conference teams, announced here Wednesday by the league office. Junior outfielder Kelly Levesque was an at-large selection to the first team, while senior second baseman Stacey Hundley and sophomore shortstop Kim Wilmoth earned second-team honors.

The Lady Bears also placed seven players on the Academic all-Big 12 honors. Senior Kourtny Westerfeld joined Wilmoth and fellow sophomore Cristin Vitek on the first team, which recognizes student-athletes with at least a 3.2 grade point average and 60 percent participation. Hundley and fellow seniors Sarah Caudle, Joni Miller and Nan Wilkins earned second-team accolades for GPAs between 3.0 and 3.19.

A first-team all-Big 12 selection last season, Levesque hit .314 this spring with two home runs, 14 RBI, eight doubles, 27 runs and 11 stolen bases. She is tied for second in the conference with three triples.

Hundley also makes her second appearance on an all-Big 12 team after earning first-team honors in 2001. The Mesa, Ariz., native hit .280 on the season, but she was one of only 14 players to hit above .300 in conference games with a team-best .316 mark. She also swiped 12 bases in 12 attempts, extending her streak of consecutive successful swipes to 21. Hundley committed a program-low five errors at second base.

Wilmoth posted the highest single-season jump in batting average in school history, going from .216 as a freshman in 2002 to a team-leading .343 mark this year. She leads the team and ranks fourth in the Big 12 in hitting. Wilmoth leads the conference in stolen bases with 19 and ranks third with 57 hits. She also established a Baylor record for fewest errors by a shortstop with at least 150 chances, committing just five this year.

Baylor faces Iowa State at 5 p.m. Wednesday in one of two play-in games. The winner faces 14th-ranked and second-seeded Oklahoma State immediately following.
