WACO - The Baylor University men's golf team is currently in 14th place after shooting a two round total of 598 (303, 295) at the William H. Tucker Intercollegiate Golf Tournament in Albuquerque, N.M., on Friday. Competition concludes with the final round on Saturday at the par 72, 7,354 yard Championship Course.
Arizona State leads the 20-team tournament after shooting rounds of 282 and 286 for a 568. Texas Tech's William Haddrell and Hawaii's Matthew Kodama share the lead after two rounds with 137s. Individually for the Bears, sophomore Will Doughtie led the way with rounds of 74 and 70 (144) to finish the day tied for eighth. Freshman Jeremy Frye finished the 36 holes tied for 47th with a score of 149 while senior Jon Antunes carded a 153 (79, 74) tied for 69th and Ryan Baca, a junior, came in at 154 (78, 76), a 77th place tie. Sophomore Will McDonald completed Baylor's scoring for the first day at 156 (77, 79) which placed him in a tie for 84th.
