Men's Golf Hosts Invitational

WACO, Texas - Baylor's men's golf team will host its sixth annual tournament on Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 29-30, at the Bear Ridge Golf Club in Waco.
The tournament boasts a competitive 14-team field that includes Baylor, Arkansas-Little Rock, Iowa State, Lamar, LSU, Miami (OH), North Texas, Rice, Sam Houston State, Southeastern Louisiana, SMU, Texas Tech, Texas-San Antonio and Wichita State.
The format of the Invitational consists of 54 holes beginning with two 18-hole rounds Monday starting at 7:15 a.m., and a final round Tuesday.
The Baylor men's team hosted their first tournament in 1998 and have held one each year since then. The 2002 Baylor Invitational was the first collegiate tournament to be held at Bear Ridge. The Bear Ridge Golf Club is a 7,250-yard, par 72 course.
SMU took championship honors last season with an 849. SMU's Brock Mulder won the individual portion of the tournament with a 204 over three rounds. Baylor won the Invitational in 1999, 2001 and 2002.
