Baseball to Play 18 Fall Intrasquad Games

WACO, Texas - After two days of team workouts beginning Monday, the Baylor baseball team opens its annual Fall Practice series Wednesday with the start of an 18-game intrasquad schedule.
Eighteen letterwinners return from a year ago, when the Bears finished the season ranked 10th nationally with a 45-23 record after advancing to the program's second Super Regional appearance in five years. The list of returnees is topped by five seniors, including 2003 major league draftees Zane Carlson and Jared Theodorakos. Baylor also welcomes 10 newcomers to the team this fall, led by third-round draft pick Cory Van Allen.
The Fall Practice will continue over the next month, concluding Oct. 25. The schedule follows:

All games are open to the public, and admission is free. The series provides fans with their first chance to see the newest Bears in action at Baylor Ballpark, and also provides a glimpse of what is to come this spring when the team begins its 2004 schedule.
Also fitting into the fall schedule is the biannual Baylor Baseball Alumni Weekend, to be held Oct. 17-18. The alumni game will be played Oct. 18 at 1 p.m. at Baylor Ballpark. More details will follow.
