The Baylor men's golf team heads to North Carolina to compete in the Coca-Cola Duke Golf Classic hosted by the Blue Devils Sunday and Monday at the Duke Golf Club in Durham, N.C.
The Bears are coming off a 10th place finish at the Pepperdine Club Glove Intercollegiate at the Saticoy Coutry Club in Somis, Calif.
Sophomore Jeremy Alcorn, was the top individual finisher for the Bears. He carded rounds of 1-under par 71, 74 and 73 in route to a 13th place finish. Sophomore Jeremy Frye continued his strong start to the seson by finishing tied for 33rd, firing a 3-under par 69 in the first round.
BAYLOR LINEUP
Jeremy Alcorn [Sophomore]: Tied for 13th with a score of 218 (71-74-73) in his last tournament at the Pepperdine Club Glove Intercollegiate...Tied for 53rd with a score of 224 (75-73-76) at the William H. Tucker...Finished second at the Baylor Invitational with three consecutive rounds of 70 to finish 6-under par.
Matt Briggs [Sophomore]: Tied for 33rd and fired a career low 67 in the final round to finish with a score of 221 in his last start at the William H. Tucker...Tied for eighth with a score of 217 (72-75-70) at the Baylor Invitational.
Jeremy Frye [Sophomore]: Tied for 33rd with a score of 225 (69-77-79) his last time out at the Pepperdine Club Glove Intercollegiate...Was the Bears' top finisher with a score of 211 (71-71-69) to tie for fifth at the William H. Tucker...Tied for 22nd with a score of 222 (75-75-72) at the Baylor Invitational.
Will McDonald [Junior]: Tied for 37th with a score of 230 (78-77-75) in his only action of the season at the Baylor Invitational.
Wes Williams [Sophomore]: Tied for 41st with a score of 227 (75-74-78) in his last outing at the Pepperdine Club Glove Intercollegiate...Tied for 39th with a score of 231 (81-75-75) competing individually at the Baylor Invitational.
Looking Ahead
Baylor will get right back to action after the Duke Golf Classic, when they travel to Louisiana to play in the C.C. of Louisiana Intercollegiate hosted by LSU in Baton Rouge, La. Oct. 25-26.
