Coming out of the Nebraska game last week we knew that we needed to do something to fix our mistakes that have plagued us. We worked real hard this past week in preparation for Iowa State and we had three good practices. We felt good and confident going into the Homecoming game against the Cyclones and we also knew we would have a very good chance of winning the game.
Although things were not as bad as the Nebraska game, it turned out into the same old story. We did not execute our schemes and we did not finish the football game. We outplayed Iowa State in every category of the game, but did not finish the game well enough to win.
Offensively we took a lot of time off the clock and looked to be more in sync. Defensively we played a solid game but tailed off toward the end. The special teams played pretty well, but we need to get better in some areas.
Whenever we put a whole game together, with all three phases doing what they should, there is no reason why we cannot win any of our next four games.
It now starts with the Aggies coming to town this weekend. Mental preparation will be the key to victory this week and it starts in practice on Tuesday.
Thanks so much for you support. Hope to see everyone at Floyd Casey on Saturday.
Sic `em Bears,
Justin
