WACO, Texas - Baylor women's tennis' Carolin Walter will begin play Tuesday, Oct. 5 in the qualifying singles round at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

The fourth seeded Walter, a sophomore, will face Katherin Winterhalter, a junior from Fresno State.

A win will move Walter into the round of 32 where she would take on the winner of the match between Kelly Anderson, a Georgia Tech junior, and Nicole Bouffler, a senior who transferred to Long Beach State after playing two years at University of Texas San Antonio.

Walter faced Anderson earlier in the season at the Baylor Invitational defeating her in a three-set match 6-3, 5-7, 6-4. Should Walter advance to the round of eight, she will move into the Main Draw, Oct. 7-10.

This year's qualifying singles draw includes 50 players from the ITA's preseason top 100 rankings.
