Going into week four of the football season we were sitting where a lot of teams are not, 2-1. We have started to play good football and things are starting to come together. We had pretty good practices going into the Texas game, but obviously not good enough.
We got behind early against the Horns, 14-0, but came right back and scored to close the gap by seven. The rest of the first half got away from us again and they scored right before the half as well.
But the second half we came out better and did not let up. They scored once in the second half and so did we. So we just did not start off the first half as we would have hoped and that cost us the game. Texas was a very good team and they had a lot of talent, but we did show ourselves that we can play with people like them. We just have to continue to put the pieces together with this program.
This week we have another big game. Missouri comes to town and the game is on national television. They are a pretty good team themselves, with some good talent, but they play hard, too. To beat this team we are going to have to have a lot of crowd support to help us out. But we also have to go back to practice and get all of the wrinkles worked out for this team. Leadership among the team must be stepped up, too, so that we may lead this team to a victory.
I hope to see ya'll out this Saturday night, and come loud and be proud of Baylor University and this football team.
Thanks,
Justin
