Tennis' Walter Eliminated from All-American

WACO, Texas - Baylor women's tennis' Carolin Walter lost Wednesday, (Oct. 6) in the qualifying singles draw at the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships at the Riviera Tennis Club in Pacific Palisades, Calif., eliminating her from the tournament.

The fourth seeded Walter, a sophomore, was finally defeated in the round of 16 after winning both of her qualifying matches on Tuesday. Mississippi's Chloe Carlotti defeated Walter in a two-set match 7-5, 6-3.

Walter beat Katherin Winterhalter of Fresno State in the round of 64 and went on to win against Long Beach State's Nicloe Bouffler in the round of 32 before falling to Carlotti.

This is not the first time Walter has faced off against Carlotti. She defeated Carlotti 6-0, 6-4 in Waco last season.

Action will resume for the Bears on Oct. 15-19 at the ITA Southwest Regional Tournament in College Station, Texas.
