ANN ARBOR, Mich.- - In the first day of the ITA National Indoor Championship, Baylor men's tennis didn't finish the day the way they would have liked on Thursday at the Varsity Tennis Center on the University of Michigan campus.
Baylor's Lars Poerschke and Matija Zgaga started the morning victoriously after winning their first-round doubles match against the No. 24-ranked duo of David Kowalski and Ryan Stotland of New Mexico 9-7.
However, in the first round of singles action, Poerschke suffered defeat against Matic Omerzel of Georgia 7-6, 6-3 sending him to the consolation bracket.
The Baylor pair advances to the quarterfinal doubles round Friday morning at 8:30 a.m. Poerschke plays Friday afternoon in the consolation bracket in the round of 16.
