Question:
May a student-athlete work over Christmas Break?
Answer:
Yes. NCAA employment rules are the same during the academic year and vacation periods. A student-athlete may earn money from employment without regard for the amount of institutional financial aid received. However, he or she may only be paid for work actually performed and at a rate commensurate with the going rate for similar services in the area. A student-athlete may not be compensated for publicity, reputation, or fame that he or she has obtained because of athletics ability.
