WACO, Texas - In a match that lasted more than five hours, Baylor's women's tennis team prevailed 5-2 over Big 12 opponent Missouri to raise its record to 5-7 on the season. The Bears, ranked No. 35 nationally, defeated the 48th-ranked Tigers in Columbia, Mo., to raise their conference record to 2-1 while Missouri is now 8-6 on the season and 2-5 in league action.

Baylor took the doubles point by winning at courts one and two. Carolin Walter and Daria Potapova teamed to post a 9-7 win at No. 1 and Daniela Covello and Klara Zrustova combined to win at No. 2, 8-6.

Three of the singles matches went to three sets with Baylor players posting wins in two of them. After dropping the first set, Walter, playing at No. 1, defeated Urska Juric in the final two sets and Iva Mihaylova, playing at No. 6, followed Walter's lead. The Bears also got wins at No. 4 and No. 5 as Zrustova and Daria Potapova ech prevailed in two sets, respectively.

The Bears' next action will be on Wed., March 17 when they travel to New Orleans to play against Tulane. Match time is 2 p.m.
