WACO, Texas - The Baylor women's tennis team closed out its regular season play with a 7-0 road win over Big 12 foe Iowa State in Ames, Iowa, on Friday morning.

With the win, the Lady Bears solidified their hold on fourth place in the league standings. The 44th-ranked Baylor squad raised its season record to 12-10 and 8-3 in Big 12 action while Iowa State drops to 5-10 on the year and remains winless in league play at 0-9.

Baylor made quick work of the Cyclones, winning all six singles matches in two sets and allowing no Iowa State doubles team to win more than four games. Klara Zrustova made quick work of her opponents in both singles and doubles, defeating Beth Chermel, 6-0, 6-1, in singles and teaming with Daniela Covello to win at No. 2 doubles, 8-1. The freshman has now extended her team-leading win streak to eight matches.

Baylor will continue to prepare for the Big 12 Tournament, April 29-May 2. The tournament, hosted by the University of Oklahoma, will be held at OU's Headington Family Tennis Center in Norman, Okla. A fourth place league finish would give the Lady Bears a first round tournament bye. They would play at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 30 against the winner of the No. 5/No. 12 match.
