It is one practice down and nine more on the horizon this week for the Baylor football team, as the Bears began their second week of fall camp with a two-hour helmet and shoulder pad workout Sunday afternoon on the Floyd Casey Stadium practice fields. "I was very pleased with today's practice," said head coach Guy Morriss. "I was a little bit nervous going into today because the players moved out of the dorm and got their keys and cell phones back in the morning. But, we were really focused and the intensity was good. We got a good 50 minutes in on special teams and corrected some things there. After the scrimmage yesterday, we bounced back pretty good and had a good practice." After reviewing the film from Saturday's controlled scrimmage, Morriss was generally pleased with his team's performance. "There were plays on both sides of the ball like we thought," Morriss said. "There's some things we can build on and there's some things we need to get corrected between now and Sept. 4 (season-opener at UAB) and that's what we are going to work on this week." The Bears are scheduled to work twice on Monday, practicing from 9:15-11:15 a.m. before coming back with another two-hour workout at 4 p.m. All practices are open to the public. Practice Notes: After missing BU's first seven fall workouts with a knee strain, senior wide receiver Marques Roberts (Luling, Texas) practiced for the first Sunday afternoon ... Junior linebacker Tyler Lindstrom (Omaha, Neb.) missed Sunday's workout with a broken hand he sustained in Saturday's scrimmage and sophomore wide receiver Trent Shelton (Fort Worth, Texas) missed Sunday's practice with a hamstring injury ... Eleven players on the 2004 Baylor roster started their careers as walk-ons, but have since been rewarded with scholarships by the BU coaching staff ... Baylor opens its 2004 season Sept. 4 at UAB, marking the seventh time in the last 10 seasons the Bears will have began the campaign away from Floyd Casey Stadium.
