The Baylor football team continued to grind its way through fall camp with a pair of Wednesday workouts, practicing for two hours in shells on the grass before returning for a two-hour full-pad afternoon workout. Baylor has now completed three of four fall camp double-sessions and 13 of the 17 workouts it will conduct before school opens on Aug. 23. "It wasn't bad," said Baylor coach Guy Morriss of his squad's performance. "We had to repeat the 9-on-7 because I didn't get the tempo I wanted and we took the goal-line stuff a little further than was on the script, but it was good for them. They have to work through some of this. "They are a little bit tired right now and they are starting to feel sorry for themselves, but they have to push through all of that," he added. "We're on the downhill slide of camp now and we've got four practices left in camp, then we are backing down when school starts. That will give us two weeks to get our legs back under us and freshen up. We can't waste these four days." Injuries continued to hit the Baylor offensive line, as junior guard Glen Oskin went down with a knee strain and will likely be sidelined for at least two weeks, according to Morriss. Oskin is the second returning starter along the BU offensive line presently sidelined, joining sophomore tackle Nick Pace, who is recovering from off-season surgery. Other players who missed Wednesday's workout included senior defensive end/tight end Luke Groth (back), sophomore defensive tackle Julian Hill (shoulder), sophomore running back Brandon Whitaker (knee strain), junior offensive lineman Evan Stone (sore knee), sophomore defensive tackle Quincy Jenkins (ankle sprain) and sophomore defensive tackle M.T. Robinson (knee). Junior wide receiver John Martin also sprained his thumb during the workout, but was able to complete the practice. The Bears are scheduled to practice once on Thursday starting at 9:15 a.m., before returning for a pair of workouts on Friday at 9:15 a.m. and 4 p.m. The team will scrimmage at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday ahead of its annual fan appreciation day activities at Floyd Casey Stadium. All Baylor practices are open to the public.
