WACO, Texas - Baylor's women's tennis team wrapped up play in the Baylor Intercollegiate Fall Invitational at the Baylor Tennis Center on Sunday with Baylor's Carolin Walter advancing to the finals in singles play.
Walter, a sophomore, defeated TCU's Helena Besovic in the semifinal round 2-6; 6-2; 6-4 to advance to the finals. Klara Zrustova, a Baylor sophomore, also competed in the semifinal round but was knocked out by Georgia Tech's Kristi Miller in a 6-3; 6-1 match. Miller, a freshman, went on to defeat Walter in a 3-set match in the final round 6-3; 6-7; 7-6.
Georgia Tech's Kacie Anson and Dasha Potapova were scheduled to play teammates Kristi Miller and Alison Silvero for the doubles finals but play was postponed until the team's return to Georgia due to time.
Up next for Baylor, the Bears will travel to Houston next weekend (Sept. 24-26) to compete in the Rice Invitational.
