Jonathan Evans
What is your best Baylor Football memory? "I would have to go with the wins against Kansas and Colorado. Colorado was a good football team and against Kansas I threw a touchdown pass; so, I would have to go with those two games."
What are your future plans? "After December, I will just be working out, trying to get my one shot at the NFL; and, if that doesn't work out, then I will probably go into some motivational speaking."
Other than football, what will you miss the most about Baylor? "The friendships, definitely. Everybody at Baylor is nice so I'll just miss the people that I met here."
What have you learned from football that you will carry with you into your profession? "Determination. Football takes a lot of determination and I will just carry that on into everything that I do. When hard challenges come, you've got to be determined and fight through them."
Who outside the football program has had the biggest influence on you and why? "I would have to say my fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha. I learned a lot of things that I didn't know about as far as history, black history, and then I met a lot of friends within that, so, I would probably have to say my fraternity."
Where do you see yourself in ten years? "Hopefully, in a nice part of town with a big house and a white picket fence."
Where do you see the Baylor football program in ten years? " Hopefully, we will be all the way at the national championship. I feel like we're building a good foundation for that now."
Jonathan Golden
What is your best Baylor Football memory? "It would have to be when I scored six touchdowns against Sanford my junior year. That would have to be my best Baylor football memory ever. It was actually a very surreal night."
What are your future plans? "I really want football to work out; but, if football doesn't work out, then, I want to go to a sound engineering school in Florida or California and pursue my plans. If I get into that and I really enjoy it then I probably want to start a business."
Other than football, what will you miss the most about Baylor? "I don't know, football is my life here at Baylor, but I guess coming into the locker room everyday. You can be having the worst day ever and come over here and you'll have a smile on your face because something funny will be going on. That is definitely something I will miss."
What have you learned from football that you will carry with you into your profession? "Being strong minded about everything in life. Even getting up in the morning and going to class everyday. Just being strong-minded about everything and having confidence in yourself, confidence in your abilities. That is something this coaching staff has really helped me with a lot."
Who outside the football program has had the biggest influence on you and why? "A couple of teachers that I have had. Nancy Upton was one of my Entrepreneur professors and she has had a big impact on me. Bob Jones, who passed away this summer and then, one of my hero's, my dad, Sam Golden. He lectures me a lot and he does not think I hear all of that stuff; but, it definitely has had a profound impact on my life."
Where do you see yourself in ten years? "I see myself having a new entrepreneurial start up venture, a successful venture. That's what I'm going to school for, that's my dream. Of course, everyone wants to make a lot of money; but, I just want to have a successful family life and make my parent's proud."
Where do you see the Baylor football program in ten years? "The Baylor football program is definitely taking strides in the right direction. I feel that as long as they continue with the plan and have faith in each other, faith in the teammates then we will be successful."
Joe DeWoody
