WACO, Texas - Baylor football players Lee Chandler, Paul Mosley, and Phil Tran visited Kendrick Elementary on Monday. They spoke to three 3rd grade classes about the effort it takes to get into college and be successful.
The players answered questions the students had about football, college life, and career plans. Chandler also helped some of the kids with their homework and Mosley read some books to his class. Chandler told the students that "College isn't just about playing football. I have to study hard everyday because if I don't make good grades, I can't play football."
All of the students received autographed schedule cards and posters. Before leaving, the players taught the kids how to do the "Sic `em Bears" yell.
The school visit is just one example of how Baylor athletes and coaches are involved in the Waco community. For more information, please contact Ray DeWeese at (254) 710-3073.
