FRANKLIN, Tenn. - The Baylor men's golf team finished in second place at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate Sunday after firing a final round of 285. The Bears (290-290-285=865) completed play at the 7,190-yard, par-72 event at one-under-par 865 and placed three players in the top-11.

Junior Jeremy Alcorn (Brownwood, Texas), led the way for the Bears after firing a third round four-under-par 68. Alcorn finished the tournament at three under par 213 (71-74-68) and finished in a tie for third. Fellow classmate, junior Jeremy Frye (Palestine, Texas), finshed tied for seventh at two-under-par 214 (73-70-71=214).

Senior Ryan Baca (Richmond, Texas), also completed play under par after firing rounds of 71, 70 and 74. Baca finished in a tie for 11th at one-under-par 215. In Baca's two events after taking last year off the redshirt, he has finished 10th and 11th.

Hometown product, Sophomore Wes Williams (Frankling, Tenn.), completed play in a tie for 32nd at 223 (75-76-72=223). Williams came back strong and shot a third round score of even-par 72. Juinior Chase Thomas (Dallas, Texas), finished the tournament in a tie for 59th (78-82-74=234) after coming back to shoot a two-over-par 74 in his final round.

The Bears finished only seven strokes behind the University of Virginia who captured the team title. SMU finished in third place behind the Bears, while host Vanderbilt finshed fourth and Middle Tennessee State rounded out the top-five.

Vanderbilt's own Juke List captured the individualt title over his teammate Jon Curran, after he fired a final round seven-under-par 65.

The Bears take a week off but will return to action next week when they host the Baylor Invitational at Bear Ridge Golf Club in Waco Monday and Tuesday, October 10-11.
