COLLEGE STATION, Texas - After five days of action, top-seeded Zuzana Zemenova sealed her title as the region's top singles player at the ITA Southwest Regional tournament this weekend played at Texas A&M. Zemenova swept through six rounds in which she defeated four of the tournament's seeded players including teammate Zuzana Cerna in the final match. Cerna was seeded twelfth.

The pair played this afternoon when Zemenova posted a 6-4, 6- victory over Cerna. Their first and second placements give each an automatic bid in the ITA National Intercollegiate Indoor Championships hosted by Ohio State University at the Racquet Club of Columbus during Nov. 3-6.

In the singles consolation finals, Zuzana Krchnakova was defeated by the tournament's second-seeded Petra Dizdar from Texas 6-1, 7-5 in their North bracket.

The Bears will return to action as they participate in both the Indoor Championships as well as at the Palm Springs Classic which is being held in Palm Springs, Calif. from Nov. 3-7. These tournaments will wrap up Baylor's women's tennis fall schedule before the regular season begins in January.
