Question:

Once a student-athlete has been issued an athletics scholarship, is it permissible to increase the aid amount at a later date?

Answer:

Institutional financial aid may be increased for any reason prior to the commencement of the award period. However, once the period of award begins, institutional aid may only be increased if the institution can demonstrate that the increase is for a reason unrelated athletics.
