During the 2005 Baylor Football Season, Baylor fans were invited to register at each home game for the Killeen Flyaway Promotion courtesy of the Killeen-Ft. Hood Regional Airport.
William Abernathy, a Baylor fan from China Springs was selected as the the lucky winner at the conclusion of the season. Over the weekend of December 3-4, Mr. Abernathy and his wife Janice enjoyed a prize package including round-trip air transportation from Killeen-Fort Hood Regional Airport to Houston, tickets to the Big 12 Championship game, dinner and hotel accommodations.
"We're thrilled for any opportunity we have to partner with Baylor Athletics and their fans that provide us an opportunity to showcase our airport," says John Sutton, Director of Aviation Services for the Killeen-Ft. Hood Regional Airport. "We're very proud of what we have to offer to the air traffic consumer here in Central Texas and we want everyone to know that we are here to serve the entire area."
The Killeen-Ft. Hood Regional Airport offers more than 40 flights per day including regional jet service. The Killeen-Ft. Hood Regional Airport is recognized as the "2004 Texas Airport of the Year" by the FAA Southwest Region Airports Division.
