When did you start playing your sport? When I was six in Round Rock, Texas

Who has had the greatest impact on your career? Personal impact would be my father, spiritual impact would be God.

What is the best part of being a college athlete? Competing against really good competition.

If you weren't playing the sport you are now, which sport would you want to play? Golf, I'd be a professional golfer.

What is your nickname on the team and why? I don't really have a nickname. My first and last names are kind of nicknames.

After meeting Coach Smith, what was you first thought? A little intimidating at first but actually a nice guy.

What position would you like to play other than your own? I'd have to say shortstop. That's what I played in high school.

What is the craziest pre-game ritual your or a teammate has used? Drinking coffee before games.

What is the most unique item in your locker? An old nasty yellow shirt that I have had since freshman year. I wear it before every game.

Who are your favorite sports heroes? Michael Jordan and Nolan Ryan

Where is your favorite place to go after a game/event? Right in front of the TV on the couch.

What is the best venue you have ever played in? The superregional against LSU my redshirt freshman year.

What is the highlight of your sports career? Probably getting two saves and a win last year against Nebraska.

What is your most embarrassing sports moment? Giving up the game-tying home run against LSU with six outs left to go to Omaha.

What opposing school do you most look forward to competing against? Texas and Rice

Why did you choose to attend Baylor? Big 12 conference, good school, good coaching staff, good people.

What has been your favorite class at Baylor? New Testament with Dr. Sadler.

What single thing will you most miss about Baylor when you leave? The people you meet, your friends.

Who is your all-time favorite Baylor athlete? Chad Elsey, he's my cousin.

What CD is in your player right now? Monty Montgomery

What is the last movie you watched? Snatch

Name one television series you won't miss. Law and Order

What is one thing you must pack when traveling? My watch, I never leave home without it.

Who is your favorite Sportscenter announcer? Kenny Mayne

As a role model to young athletes, what advice can you give? Believe in yourself.

What is your favorite fast food? I don't really eat fast food but if I had to pick I would say a grilled chicken sandwich from Wendy's.

What is the biggest challenge you have had to overcome? Not getting recruited by many schools out of high school.

Name one thing that people would be surprised to learn about you. I only pitched one year in high school.

Name one thing you can't go a week without. Talking to my parents.

If you had to perform karaoke, what song would you sing? "Baby Got Back"

What is your dream job? To play professional baseball.

What's your most valued possession? My cell phone.

What do you consider the all-time greatest moment in sports? Michael Jordan winning six world championships. That was pretty big.
