WACO, Texas - Baylor's No. 15 women's tennis team will face a full Easter weekend taking on Missouri and Iowa State in back-to-back matches Saturday at the Baylor Tennis Center. The Bears will kick off play with Missouri at 11 a.m. and then play Iowa State starting at 6 p.m.
The Bears had a week to prepare after they defeated Kansas State 6-1 last Sunday improving their record 12-3, 3-0 in conference. Baylor is currently second in the Big 12 standings behind No. 9 Texas with a conference record of 4-0.
Baylor's No. 24 Zuzana Zemenova has been performing for the Bears in the No. 1 spot. She is not only nationally ranked, but holds the best record in the Big 12 at No. 1 singles at 2-1.
No. 79 Carolin Walter makes only her third appearance this season at the No. 2 spot for the Bears. Walter returned to the court for the Bears last weekend facing Vanderbilt and Kansas State.
The No. 50 Missouri Tigers currently hold the No. 4 spot in Big 12 standings with a record of 12-2, 2-1 in conference. The Tigers hold an 8-match winning streak and are coming off a 7-0 win against George Washington last weekend.
Missouri's No. 1 singles player, No. 71 Katka Sevcikova, is their only nationally ranked player.
Iowa State is currently last in the Big 12 standings with a conference record of 0-5, 1-6 overall. They will face Texas Tech in Lubbock on Friday before traveling to Waco to face the Bears Saturday night.
