WACO, Texas - Baylor's No. 18 women's tennis team defeated the University of Houston 4-0 and Southern Methodist University 6-1 Wednesday at the Baylor Tennis Center.

With the two wins today, the Bears are now 10-2 on the season and continue a nine match winning streak dating back to January 30.

The Bears started off the day taking on Houston at 2 p.m. After nailing down the doubles point, Baylor easily took three singles wins to nail down the 4-0 victory.

First, Zuzana Zemenova defeated Bilijana Dimovska 6-1, 6-0. Klara Zrustova and Zuzana Krchnakova also took wins for the Bears with Krchnakova clenching the winning point defeating Tiffany McLoughlin 6-4, 6-1.

In order to get the SMU match started on time, the Bears did not finish the other three singles matches against Houston.

After posting the 4-0 victory against the Cougars, the Bears turned around and came out strong against the Mustangs sweeping the doubles point.

Baylor's Zuzana Zemenova got her second win of the day against Svetlana Kouzmenko who retired the match due to an ankle injury sustained earlier this week.

Baylor continued to win with Klara Zrustova defeating Jennifer Chay 6-1, 6-0 and Zuzana Krchnakova posting a 6-4, 6-0 win over Lynsie Jones. Iva Mihaylova also posted a win for the Bears downing Allison Leuszler 6-3, 6-1.

Daniela Covello battled through a tie-breaker to defeat Jenny Langer 6-4, 6-6 (7).

After winning the first set, Caroline Korsawe couldn't hold to the lead and lost to Halley Rambally in a super tie breaker 1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (9).

The Bears return to action March 16 when they take on Iowa at the Baylor Tennis Center.
