WACO, Texas - The No. 12 Baylor Women's Tennis Team maintained a perfect Big 12 record defeating Texas A&M in College Station, 5-2. The Bears now improve to 9-0 in conference, 18-4 overall.

With only two Big 12 matches left to play, the Bears lead the conference as the only undefeated team. Texas holds on to the No. 2 position and the Aggies are third in the conference.

Things started off slow for the Bears today as the Bears dropped two of three doubles matches to lose the doubles point. Baylor entered singles down 0-1.

The Bears picked up speed fast with Daniela Covello finishing off A&M's Anna Blagodarova 6-4, 7-5. Zuzana Krchnakova picked up a 6-1, 6-3 win over A&M's Marisa Druss giving the Bears a 2-1 lead.

Baylor continued to dominate the singles action winning five out of six match ups. Baylor's No. 24 Zuzana Zemenova defended her undefeated record in Big 12 singles knocking off No. 76 Helga Vieira 6-7(4), 6-3, 6-4.

The Bears will finish conference play on the road as they travel to Oklahoma to face the Sooners on Thursday, April 21 and Oklahoma State on Saturday, April 23.
