WACO, Texas - Baylor's No. 12 women's tennis team defeated Kansas 6-1 at the Baylor Tennis Center today remaining undefeated in conference action. The Bears now improve to 15-3 overall, 6-0 in conference.
The Bears came out strong against Kansas quickly taking all three doubles matches putting them up 1-0.
In singles, the Bears continued to play strong winning five of six matches. Iva Mihaylova started things off for Baylor finishing off Ashley Filberth 6-1, 6-1.
Daniela Covello clenched the match for the Bears defeating Christing Skoda 6-2, 6-2 and giving Baylor the win.
The only loss for the Bears came in the No. 1 slot when No. 79 Carolin Walter fell to Kansas' Elizabeth Avdeeva 2-6, 2-6.
Baylor's Zuzana Krchnakova continued her winning streak going undefeated in her last 14 matches.
The Bears will return to the court Wednesday, April 6 when they will face the No. 1 team team in the Big 12 standings, No. 8 Texas. The match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
