WACO, Texas - - More than 1,000 sixth graders from seven Waco ISD middle schools will be participating in the first annual Baylor Day on Tuesday, April 26. The outreach event is a partnership been the school's athletic department and Waco ISD.

The event is a way for Baylor student-athletes to mentor the sixth graders while also showcasing the collegiate environment. The sixth graders will have the opportunity to hear from the Baylor coaching staff and select student-athletes while also enjoying one athletic activity during the day.

Baylor Day begins in the Ferrell Center with an introduction by select Baylor coaches from 9:45-10:15 a.m. The attendees will then participate in a 45-minute skill session in one of the following sports--basketball, softball, track and field, football, baseball, soccer, volleyball and tennis before returning to the Ferrell Center for a closing program featuring select Baylor student-athletes.

The event will conclude with lunch provided by Pizza Hut, Dr, Pepper, and HEB. For further information, please contact Baylor athletic marketing at 710-3073.
