Women's Tennis Downs Texas Tech 7-0

Waco,Texas - The No.15 Baylor women's tennis team defeated Texas Tech 7-0 today at the Baylor Tennis Center to remain undefeated in conference action.

After defeating No. 10 Texas on Wednesday, the Bears continue towards a Big 12 title improving their record to 8-0 in conference, 17-3 overall with the defeat of Texas Tech.

Baylor dominated the match from the beginning sweeping all three doubles matches to earn the Bears a 1-0 lead. Carolin Walter and Zuzana Zemenova played in the No.1 doubles spot defeating the No.26 ranked Texas Tech team of Lakann Wagley and Tara Browning 8-5.

In singles, the Bears continued to control the match with Iva Mihaylova easily taking Tech's Katja Kovacic 6-0, 6-0 shut-out in the No.6 spot. Zuzana Krchnakova earned the third Baylor point defeating Tech's Erin Hunter 6-3, 6-1.

Daniela Covello had the match clenching win for Baylor when she deafeated Tara Browning 7-6(1), 6-0. Klara Zrustova, Zuzana Zemenova and Carolin Walter also posted wins for the Bears finishing the 7-0 sweep.

Baylor will return to action Sunday afternoon when they will face No.19 Tulane at 12 noon at the Baylor Tennis Center.
