With work on the Grant Teaff Plaza expansion at Baylor's Floyd Casey Stadium nearing the end of its fourth week, several other projects designed to make the 55-year-old stadium more "fan friendly" are scheduled to be completed prior to the 2005 home opener on Sept. 10 against Samford, the Athletic Department announced Friday.
"The completion of the Grant Teaff Plaza and several customer service improvements will make a tremendous difference in the game day experience for our fans in 2005," said Baylor Director of Athletics Ian McCaw. "However, we believe that the improved product on the field and renewed sense of enthusiasm among our fan base will be the most important factors in larger crowds filling Floyd Casey Stadium on Saturdays this fall."
Big 12 games against Nebraska (Oct. 15), 2004 Pacific Bowl champ Texas Tech (Oct. 29), 2005 Rose Bowl champion Texas (Nov. 6) and Oklahoma State (Nov. 19) complete the Bears' home schedule. Parents' Day is slated for Sept. 10 with homecoming scheduled for Oct. 29.
Season tickets for the Bears' five-game 2005 home schedule are available through the Baylor Athletic Ticket Office and fans will notice that in six of the seven package offerings the pricing remains the same as a year ago. Baylor's 2005 season ticket prices are $285.00 per seat in the Bear Den in Galloway Suites, $265.00 in Bear Heights, $200.00 in Bear Place, $185.00 in the Bear Club, $135.00 in the general seating areas, $80.00 for the Super Fan plan and $200.00 for the Family Package (family of four). Season ticket prices do not reflect seat option contributions which may also need to be made depending on seat location.
In response to the demand for premium seating from Baylor fans, the Bear Club will make its 2005 debut. Located between Bear Place and Bear Heights on the stadium's West sideline, the Bear Club will encompass the middle three sections at Floyd Casey Stadium and approximately 3,000 seats. Seats in the Bear Club will have chairbacks, cushions and armrests on them. While the price has increased slightly for tickets in the Bear Club area, the seat option prices for those sections remain the same as a year ago.
The Grant Teaff expansion will also include an additional ticket office on the stadium's East side to assist fans who purchase tickets on game day. A new upgrade to the Athletic Ticket Office's computer system this summer will create a more customer friendly environment on game day with credit card transaction time being dramatically reduced for all fans.
Floyd Casey Stadium will also be re-manifested over the summer so that sections will be partitioned off between stairs as opposed to the middle of each section as is the case now and only one letter will be used to identify a section rather than the system currently in place. Currently, each section is identified as A and AA, but beginning this fall each section will be marked with just one letter. The Galloway Suites area at the stadium will now be referred to as the Bear Den in Galloway Suites.
