Question:

May an incoming freshman or transfer student-athlete work summer camps/clinics?

Answer:

No. Incoming freshmen and transfers are considered prospects until the first day of class of a regular academic term or the first practice session that occurs before the start of an academic term. Employing a prospect to work a summer camp/clinic would constitute an impermissible tryout.
