Hello Baylor Fans, Well, we are now 3-4 (2-1 in the Big 12). There were a lot of good things from the Texas game that we can build off of, but at the same time, there were a lot of things that really cost us the ball game. We have to take better control of the football (myself included) and limit the mistakes. We had a lot of momentum after the first quarter, but then they ran away with it.
I was proud of the effort that we played with and how we kept fighting no matter what the score was. There is no doubt we are a good football team and I bet Texas would agree. When you play a team like Texas, you have to limit mistakes and play smart football to win and we just did not get the job done. With five games left we have to win three to become bowl eligible. We feel very confident that we can win all of them, but it starts this week against Kansas. We have to get our minds off of Texas and not look forward to anything else but Kansas. Every game is vital to our season and we cannot afford to let any more slip out of our grip. We need to get back up after a tough loss and get back on a winning streak. Kansas is a good ball club and we expect another tough battle. It is also Homecoming which brings a little more excitement and motivation for us as players.
I expect a good crowd and it will really provide us with some energy and excitement. I'm not sure how long it has been since we have won a homecoming game, but we have not won one since I've been at Baylor. This could be a big game for us to get back on track and get some momentum going to the final stage of our season.
Thank you so much for your support and I hope to see each and every one of you this week for homecoming.
God Bless and Sic'em Bears! Shawn Bell
