Baylor University has completed its 2007 football schedule with the addition of a two-game series against the University at Buffalo that will start Sept. 22, 2007, at UB Stadium in Buffalo, N.Y., and end Sept. 11, 2010, at the Bears' Floyd Casey Stadium, Baylor Director of Athletics Ian McCaw announced.
The Bulls, a member of the Mid-American Conference and coached by Turner Gill, a standout quarterback at Nebraska from 1981-83 and a Fort Worth, Texas, native, replace Louisiana Tech on the 2007 and 2010 Baylor slates. Baylor is 1-0 all-time against the Mid-American Conference having beaten Bowling Green, 38-0, in 1981. Buffalo is 0-1 against the Big 12 Conference, having dropped a 28-10 decision at Iowa State in 1968.
Baylor will open its 2007 season with a Sept. 1 game at TCU, followed by home games against Rice on Sept. 8 and Texas State on Sept. 15, before completing the non-conference portion of its schedule at Buffalo.
The Bears, who open Big 12 play at Texas A&M on Sept 29, 2007, will welcome Colorado (Oct. 6), Texas (Oct. 20), Texas Tech (Nov. 3) and Oklahoma State (Nov. 17) to Floyd Casey Stadium during conference play. In addition to the Texas A&M game, Baylor has league road games scheduled at Kansas (Oct. 13), Kansas State (Oct. 27) and Oklahoma (Nov. 10).
Baylor's Nov. 3 contest against Texas Tech has been designated as the Bears' 2007 homecoming game.
By adding Buffalo to its 2007 and 2010 schedules, Baylor has nearly set its non-conference schedules through 2011 and it expects to announce its future Big 12 schedules for 2008-2015 later this month. Baylor has one opening on both its 2010 and 2011 slates that will be filled by a I-AA opponent in the near future.
