Hello Baylor Fans,
Well the season is at the halfway point. Even though many things have happened that we were not happy with, we still are 3-3 with a .500 winning percentage. We are halfway to our goal of a bowl game with the second half of the season ahead. This weekend was a huge win for our team and our program. It was a game full of excitement with players making clutch plays throughout the game to finally win a close game.
For all the fans that made the trip to Boulder, it sure was great to have you there and experience the excitement after the game with you. Colorado has a great program and it was an amazing atmosphere to play in. I cannot explain to you how good it felt to fly home 2-0 in the Big 12 and tied for first in the Big 12 South.
The thing that excites me most is to know that we are 2-0 in conference and we have not even come close to having our best game yet. We haven't played our best on both sides of the ball and I think that our best football is still ahead of us. I see improvements every week and with six games left we feel like we are back on track.
Although we started off the season bad, we are heading to Austin to play for the lead in the Big 12 South at this point of the season. There is no need for me to talk about Texas because we all know how talented and successful they are.
It is more important for us to focus on ourselves and work hard every day this week to provide us with an opportunity for an upset. We feel like we can compete with any team in the nation; but, we must prove that on the field this Saturday.
Texas is a heavy favorite and rightfully so. However, don't be fooled, there will not be a player wearing the green and gold who has any doubt in our mind we can compete and even beat Texas. We are really looking forward to this game and it is a great opportunity to accomplish our goals and could be a huge opportunity for our program. I hope many of you make the trip down I-35 to watch us battle with the Longhorns. We are also excited to play on TBS in front of a national audience. So if you're not at the game, I hope you listen on the radio or watch us on TV.
