BAYLOR HEAD COACH Guy Morriss
ON THE GAME:
We were out of sync today. We had some opportunities and the defense played well early; but, we couldn't find any rhythm. We were really just really out of sync today."
"This was probably the best defense we've seen all year, I know it was the fastest."
ON PERFORMANCE:
"At times we do things right, it's just we need more consistency and need to be able to handle pressure better. We've won three Big 12 games. That's a big step for this program."
ON RECRUITS:
"I think we're in good shape with all of them. They've committed to Baylor for the right reasons. They will stand by their commitments, I feel. We need them and they can see we need them."
ON LOSING Shawn Bell:
"Losing Shawn hurt us because he was our leader. At the same time though, you can find a million excuses for losing."
BAYLOR WR Trent Shelton
ON FUTURE OF PROGRAM:
"They can win a national championship, if they want to. If it is right there, they can work hard and win it."
ON QB SZYMANSKI:
"It's hard for Blake, he's a new quarterback. When you lose the best quaterback in Baylor history, it's hard."
ON HIS YEARS AT BAYLOR:
"The best thing we brought here was a winning attitude. We accomplished a lot of things. By no means was this a successful year, but we brought a winning attitude."
BAYLOR CB C.J. Wilson
ON OFFENSE:
"I was starting to wonder where we were. We still didn't get the job done, we did show signs of life though."
ON PROGRAM NEXT YEAR:
"Those guys have to believe they can do it; but, first of all, they have to weed out those who don't believe."
ON ATTITUDE:
"You have to bring some fun onto the field. You can't go out there stiff necked, because if you bend the wrong way, it will break."
ON TURNOVERS:
"Today was a day where it seemed like we had a lot of turnovers, we just didn't get the one we needed."
BAYLOR OS MAURICE LINGUIST
ON TODAY'S PERFORMANCE
"I am happy about today. We stopped the streak of playing horrible defense. We caused some turnovers and tackled more."
ON ATTITUDE:
"I am out here trying to win. I feel like everyone on the field is trying to win. Do we make all the plays, no. We are out there giving our best effort, though."
OKLAHOMA HEAD COACH BOB STOOPS
On the game:
"I'm excited. I thought we played well. We executed. That's the pleasing part. We executed. There's a bunch of young guys moving the football in a really good way. I'm pleased with the progress we've made through the year through the good habits and practice."
On mistakes:
"I just think you play a three hour game. Through the course of a game, every play won't go your way. It's never easy, any game you play."
On pass defense:
"Our guys had a great game in the way we defended and blitzed and even when we covered. The guys executed well."
On Smith's fumbled punt return:
"The guy [punter Daniel Sepulveda] hit a 70-yarder that drew rain, and that's not easy to play."
On third quarter scoring:
"We came out and scored right away offensively. The defense got a safety, and then their great punter hit a deep one and Juaquin [Iglesias] had a great return. We kind of just got on a roll."
OKLAHOMA DE ALONSO DOTSON:
On pass rushing:
"It's about time we came together as a collective group and got some good rushes. We did get off a pretty good day today."
OKLAHOMA RB CHRIS BROWN:
On young player mistakes:
"We are young; but, that's not us. We know better. We made some mistakes; but, luckily we were able to overcome them."
