    Baylor Family,

Special thanks to each of the fans who were a part of setting a new single-season football attendance record this season of 259,559 breaking the previous record set in 1991. I want to make special mention of the incredible student support for the team, and express appreciation to all of our fans for their enthusiasm and faithfulness to the program.

There is no better way to support Baylor Athletics than by purchasing season tickets and joining the Bear Foundation, and each of you are making a vital contribution in building a football program that will achieve great success in the years to come. I want to also commend our marketing and ticket staffs on the great work that they did in building excitement prior to this season and serving our fans throughout the year.

Basketball season has arrived and I join all of our fans in being excited about the prospects for both Coach Drew's and Coach Mulkey's teams this season. While both teams are very young, the talent is undeniable, and I look forward to an exciting season of basketball in the Ferrell Center. Despite the fact that we are ahead of last year's season ticket totals in both men's and women's basketball, it is not too late to purchase basketball season tickets. Please contact the Baylor athletic ticket office at 710-1000 to make sure that you are part of action!

I want to offer my congratulations to the women's cross country team in advancing to NCAA competition and finishing 29th despite a series of injuries that sidelined several of the team's top runners. Look for this team to have a very special season next year!

Best wishes to you and yours for a safe and enjoyable Thanksgiving season!

    Dear Mr. McCaw,

With the end of the football season in sight I was looking forward just a bit toward next year. Are there any plans in the works to change our entrance video? Don't misunderstand me, I like our current one but noticing that the basketball teams had changed theirs heavily I was wondering if football would follow suit for next season.

    Thomas Patrick Bailey

    Katy, Texas

    Thomas,

As you point out, our BaylorVision staff has done a tremendous job with the entrance videos for our programs. We receive compliments from virtually every visiting team that comes to Baylor about the quality of this presentation. We do plan on a new entrance video for football next season.

    Ian;

Please, please, please can we get the running clock added to "Baylor Vision" web broadcasts? None of the broadcasters do what Frank Fallon used to do ... bring a 3 minute egg timer and give the score and time everytime it ran out!

    Thanks!

    Bob Perkins

    Atlanta, Ga.

    Bob,

Thank you for the very polite question. The Baylor Vision staff is working to purchase equipment necessary to include the game clock in their web site presentation. All of us agree that adding the game clock to the score box would enhance our web presentation. An alternative if you are on-line would be to open another window and follow the time through Game Tracker.

    Ian,

As an alum, it's hard to be a fan of the product the University puts on the football field. I would have thought that the team would be improving each week but in reality it is truly the opposite. Just curious if in your opinion the football program is headed in the right direction?

    Val Colesworthy

    Dallas, Texas

    Val,

It is clear that the football program is making progress. Baylor won three Big 12 games, the most in our 11 years in the conference. The current football recruiting class is clearly the best that Baylor has experienced since joining the Big 12. In addition to a new single-season attendance record being established, the team had five television appearances which is the most for Baylor in one season since joining the Big 12. Clearly, there is a great deal of progress in many areas and much to be encouraged about. I look forward to continued progress next season with the program reaching a bowl game.

    Ian;

On a recent drive past Floyd Casey Stadium I noticed that some of the new banners honoring past players that were put up in August of this year are missing. My question is what has happened to them? Among the banners missing are ones for W. Abercrombie, T. Everett, and J. Francis. Hopefully they were not stolen; any insight as to the missing banners would be appreciated.

    Thank you

    Rob Adams

    Robinson Texas

    Rob,

Thank you for the question. We experienced some difficulty with the banners of the football greats around the Stadium coming loose from their bracketing. With that, we installed longer bolts to alleviate this difficulty and the banners are now back up and the stadium looks great!

    Ian,

Can something be done about the sound system at the stadium? This has been a problem since the first game making it impossible to hear the calls from the refs.

    Rex Wall

    Kingwood, Texas

    Rex,

Our administrative staff will be meeting in the coming weeks to wrap up the football season and discuss ways of enhancing the facility and improving the game day experience for fans. I am very pleased with the work our staff has done to date, and we look forward to additional improvements prior to 2007. Improvement of the sound system at the stadium is on my list of items to be addressed.

    Ian,

In the spirit of the Thanksgiving season, what are some things that you are thankful for this year?

    Jake

    Richmond, Texas

    Jake,

Thank you for the question. I must start with giving both thanks and glory to God. Moreover, I have been blessed with a healthy and precious family. Beyond that, it is an incredible privilege to serve Baylor and work with such incredible people. The university and the athletics department are made up of truly remarkable people who I count as great friends and wonderful colleagues. Finally, I am very thankful for the Baylor family and the incredible encouragement and support that you afford this athletics program. Sic'em Bears!
